The Superstar Racing Experience is a series designed to put top drivers from various disciplines of racing together in events held on a variety of tracks across the country. Racers compete in equally prepared machines built under the watchful eye of legendary NASCAR crew chief Ray Evernham.

The six-race 2023 schedule calls for drivers to compete on both paved and dirt tracks with the finale coming on August 17, 2023 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. That track hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Show-me 100 as well as the Diamond Nationals for Dirt Late Model machines.

Both semi-retired and active drivers compete with the series on a full-time or part-time basis. Stars such as series co-owner Tony Stewart along with Kyle Busch, Bobby Labonte, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Marco Andretti, Clint Bowyer, Helio Castroneves and Josef Newgarden have been among the competitors this season.

A new racer will join the fray for the finale at Wheatland in the person of five-time World 100 winner Jonathan Davenport. The three-time Lucas Oil champion was the most recent winner with that series at Lucas Oil Speedway when he beat the field to the checkered flag in the Diamond Nationals on July 15th.

Davenport obviously knows his way around the 3/8 mile clay oval having won the 2015 Show-me 100 and is a four-time winner of the Diamond Nationals. The 39-year-old driver from Blairsville, Georgia looks forward to the challenge.

“It’s pretty exciting to get a call from SRX inviting me to race with some of the best drivers in the country
from such different racing backgrounds on dirt at Lucas Oil Speedway next week,” Davenport said in a press release from SRX.

Davenport is not immune from jumping into new forms of racing having raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Cup Series earlier this year on the dirt covered Bristol Motor Speedway.

The SRX race from Lucas Oil Speedway will air live on ESPN at 9:00pm on August 17th. The series will race at Eldora Speedway on August 10th also on ESPN at 9:00pm.
