Bobby Pierce keeps rolling with XR victory at Gondik Law

Bobby Pierce continued his run of success on Monday night when he drove to an XR Super Series victory at Gondik Law Speedway in the Superior Showdown. The win by the ‘Smooth Operator’ was his second with this series for the 2023 season and followed his $50,000 triumph in this past weekend’s USA Nationals

The Longhorn Chassis driver from Oakwood, Illinois earned $20,000 for his efforts on the track located in Superior, Wisconsin in a race aired live by XRevents.plus.

A total of 34 cars were signed in for competition

Feature Re-cap: The 50-lap feature got underway with Pierce jumping out to the lead followed by Doar, Winger, Shirley and Dennis Erb Jr. Madden bolted into the top-5 by passing Erb on lap 3.

Pierce began to pull away building a lead of over two seconds by the end of lap 6 while Winger got by Doar for second. Brent Larson slowed on lap 9 to bring out a caution.

On the restart, Madden got by Shirley for fourth while Pierce continued to lead Winger and Doar. Madden would ultimately take third from Doar but a lap 17 caution again slowed the pace.

On the restart, Madden moved into second. Gustin and Doar fought for fourth at the same time. Madden kept pace with Pierce as the feature moved to the halfway mark. At the same time, Thornton began to make his presence known by breaking into the top-5.

On lap 30, it was Thornton who took fourth away from Gustin as Pierce led by just over a second from Madden and Winger. Thornton continued to march forward on lap 37 when he moved around Winger for third as Pierce began to extend his lead over Madden.

Weiss took over fifth from Gustin with 8 laps remaining in the show.

But in the end, the them of Bobby Pierce collecting a big check at the end of a feature race continued.
