Brandon Overton took $50,000 away from TST
In a race that proved to be an eventful one in front of a record crowd for the Talladega Short Track, Brandon Overton took the lead late in the going then drove away to claim a big paycheck for the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series. The No. 76 machine was raised to the lead of the race with just 15 circuits remaining when Bobby Pierce slowed due to a problem on the left rear of his car. From that point, Overton was never challenged.
The Longhorn Chassis driver from Evans, Georgia earned $50,000 for his efforts on the Eastaboga, Alabama track.
A total of 48 cars were signed in for competition
Qualifying Results: The was no qualifying session as heat race lineups were by the triple features contested on Friday night.

Feature Re-cap: The feature began with English taking the lead over Overton, Bronson, Shirley and Davenport before a series of caution flags would wave during the first 11 laps of the race that would prevent any sort of rhythm from developing. The most significant of those yellow flags involved Madden just after the completion of the first lap then a big crash that did significant damage to the cars of Cooney, Briggs and Carson Ferguson.
Just after a lap 9 caution, Bronson was able to move into second, while further back, Davenport and Larson fought over positions within in the top-5 after Larson had made a bold charge on the high side of the track to get to that position. However, those two cars came in contact with each other doing enough damage to Larson’s car that it caused him to slow bringing out another yellow flag and to go to the pit area for work on the left rear of the No. 6 machine.
Just after lap 20, Pierce began a hard charge on the high side of the track that would see him grab fifth away from Gustin on lap 21 then fourth from Davenport on lap 31. Pierce then wrested third from Bronson on lap 34 and second from Overton on lap 37.
By lap 41, Pierce had caught English and moved by for the lead of the race. After that, the top-4 of Pierce, English, Overton and Bronson ran in tight formation as they worked in and around slower cars.
Pierce appeared to be on his way to victory until he slowed with a problem on the left rear of his car on lap 45. Overton inherited the lead at that time then was able to pull away from pursuers on his way to a big payday.
