Feature Re-cap: When the 50-lap feature got underway it was Madden who took the early lead over Pierce, Shirley, Feger and Hoffman. Two laps later, Shirley got around Pierce for second while Hoffman took fourth away from Feger.

Shirley stepped up to challenge Madden for the race lead on lap 5. However, Pierce would take advantage of that fight to wrest second away from Shirley on lap 8.

The top-3 ran in tight formation as the battled for the top spot before Pierce passed by both Madden for the lead. However, Madden fought back by moving to the inside in hopes of retaking the lead.

Madden did in fact pass by Pierce for the lead on lap 10 then Shirley also got around Pierce for second on lap 13. One lap later, Pierce got a big run on the outside and zipped by both Madden and Shirley to take the lead for a second time.

At the halfway mark, Hoffman moved forward when he passed Madden for third as Pierce began to pull away from the pack. Hoffman moved up to fight with Shirley for second ultimately taking the position on lap 43.

A lap 46 caution for Clanton’s slowing car raised some doubt about the outcome but the No. 32 would not be denied as he sailed under the checkered flag for another victory.
