Weekly Racing Heroes will be a regular feature on InsideDirtRacing.com throughout the 2019 racing season. Driver: Warren McMahan
Hometown: Dandridge, TN
Class: Sportsman Late Model
Warren McMahan has proven himself over many years to be one of the top competitors in the east Tennessee region. The 57-year-old racer, who followed a family tradition in the sport, has raced in numerous classes on both dirt tracks and paved tracks and has succeeded throughout.
What got you started in racing?
“My father did it for years and then when I got old enough we started doing it. I started back in 1984 in the Street Stock class at Atomic.”
What is the goal you want to achieve in racing?
“Back in my younger days I set more goals, but now, just to finish is good.”
What keeps you coming back week after week?
“I just enjoy it. And I like being around the people at the track.”
