Volunteer Speedway’s “Scorcher” sanctioned by Ultimate series

The 2016 edition of Volunteer Speedway’s “Scorcher” will be sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series the series announced today. When the Bristol night race was moved ahead one week to allow extra time for the speedway to set up the football field for the game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech, Volunteer Speedway could not get the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to sanction the event due to that weekend being the traditional date for the Topless 100 in Batesville, Arkansas. Volunteer looked at other sanctioning options and selected the Ultimate series. It will mark the series’ first race at Volunteer since 2012.
