Support Class Spotlight: Justin Beeler

We at InsideDirtRacing.com recognize the contributions made to the sport of dirt racing by those who race in the support classes each week at our local tracks. Their work, dedication and sacrifice are just as great as those who compete in the Late Model divisions. As a result, we hope to shine a spotlight on one of those unsung heroes each week of this season by having them answer eight questions as well as provide other information.

This week’s driver is Justin Beeler

Justin Beeler

Justin Beeler is a regular competitor in the Sportsman class at Tazewell Speedway. The 30-year-old resident of Halls started out in another form of racing but migrated to dirt oval a few years ago.

“We started at 411 but when they started this class up here we seemed to always be a little better up here than we were down there so we just kind of stuck around up here,” Beeler explained.

And as far as his future plans in racing go, he is content for now but would enjoy the opportunity to make a change. “I’m happy where we are for now but if we could find a good sponsor, I’d love to be in a Steelhead.”

1. How long have you been in racing?

“This will be my fourth year in a Late Model. I drag raced from the time I was 17 until I was around 23.”

2. Why the Sportsman class?

“It’s more affordable. It puts most of us on a level playing field with the shock rules and the tire rules.”

3. The best thing about being a race car driver is____.

“The adrenaline rush.”

4. Your best moment in racing came when ____.

“It would probably be when I won my first race last year. It happened just after my mom had passed away. Man, that was a touching moment, just to be able to win my first race and to dedicate it to her.”

5. My biggest dream in racing would be _____.

“To race for a living.”

6. What other racer do you admire?

“Mike Marlar. I was around him when Smoky Mountain used to run supers every week and he was always super nice. You could go up and talk to him and he don’t act like he’s better than you.”

7. What’s your favorite thing to do away from the track?

“Go to the lake.”

8. If I wasn’t racing I would be ____.

“Going insane.”
