Feature Re-cap: The 25-lap main event got underway with McFadden ahead of Courtney, Schuchart, Macedo and Lynch. On the second circuit, Lynch got by Macedo for fourth but his gain would prove to be short lived as both Macedo and Gravel would pass by on lap 5 to take the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
While it initially appeared as if McFadden might slip away from his pursuers, Courtney and Schuchart began to reel him in on lap 10 as the front runners began to encounter traffic.
At lap 12, Courtney made his move on McFadden for the race lead which set off a brief exchange of slide jobs before Courtney emerged on top. Further back, Gravel closed rapidly on Schuchart and ultimately took third away on lap 15. In the meantime, Courtney had stretched his advantage to just over two seconds.
Gravel would eventually get by McFadden for second but Courtney was in the process of driving away. The driver known as ‘Sunshine’ took the checkered flag four seconds ahead of his closest pursuer.
