The long rumored pairing of driver Shannon Babb and Team Zero Race Cars is apparently coming to fruition according to a Twitter post from @Team0RaceCars made on Tuesday. In the post, Scott Bloomquist delivers a brief video to announce the news that Babb’s team is taking delivery of the new machine.

Babb’s operation had previously employed cars equipped with Rocket Chassis.

“This world is coming to Zero domination,” Bloomquist stated. “Shannon Babb is getting a brand new car we just finished today. We’re going to start putting some serious f***ing heat on the f***ing competition.”

Babb is a fixture on Midwestern dirt tracks. The 46-year-old Illinois native is approaching 100 feature wins over the course of his career including multiple triumphs in the Dirt Track World Championship and the Topless 100 crown jewel events. The “Moweaqua Missile” is also a former UMP Summer Nationals champion.

Babb won two features in 2019. He took the checkered flag in a UMP Summer Nationals race at Highland Speedway in Illinois that paid $10,000-to-win and he scored a $5,000 victory in one of the Gateway Nationals features in St. Louis.

Like everyone else in the Dirt Late Model racing world, Babb is waiting out the coronavirus before returning to the track. However, the 2020 schedule posted to his website includes the UMP Summer Nationals and a number of crown jewel and other big races slated for the Midwest.
