Rico Abreu grabs Eldora Million Group B preliminary

Rico Abreu was having an excellent season coming into this week and that only got better on Wednesday night at Eldora Speedway when he scored a win in the Eldora Million Group B preliminary.

The Rico Abreu Racing driver from St. Helena, California earned $12,000 from the track located in Rossburg, Ohio in a race shown live by FloRacing.com.

A total of 83 cars were signed in for competition

Feature Re-cap: The 25-lap main event began with Brown leading Abreu, Gravel, Peck and Duncan. Gravel passed Abreu for second on the second circuit and quickly moved in on Brown to fight for the lead. Further back, Macedo entered the fray by passing Duncan for fourth on lap 6. 

Abreu began his charge to the front on lap 10 when he passed Gravel to retake second as the top-3 of Brown, Abreu and Gravel ran in tight formation. One lap later, the No. 24 machine would got to the lead with a pass of Brown.

Macedo took third away from Gravel on lap 12 as Abreu began to pull away from the pack. Even as the leaders entered slower traffic in a race that would go caution free, Abreu was able to maintain his advantage.

Macedo drove past Brown for second on lap 17 then Gravel got by the early race leader for third one lap later.

Despite Macedo cutting into the lead a bit, it was Abreu who would win the race to the finish line to collect the victory.
