The 49th running of the National 100, one of the South’s oldest Dirt Late Model events, is set to roll off on Sunday at the East Alabama Motor Speedway. The race, which is being officiated by the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, will dole out $49,000 to its winner.
Qualifying and heat racing action took place on Saturday night at the Phenix City, Alabama facility with B-mains and the feature scheduled for Sunday. The racing action will be aired live by Hunt the Front TV.
Brandon Overton has won the past two National 100 features. Fellow entrants Jimmy Owens and Chris Madden have also scored two wins each in this event. Scott Bloomquist is the winningest driver with eight victories.
A total of 40 cars were signed in for competition.
