In 2021, raceXR thrust itself into the Dirt Late Model spotlight by sanctioning big races at some of the most well known venues in motorsports. Dirt races on tracks located on the properties of Bristol Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway were contested under the sanction of this previously lesser known entity. Going into 2022, there looks to be an even bigger year on the horizon.
As the coming season approaches, XR has laid out an aggressive schedule of races with big payouts along with powerful incentives meant to lure the top drivers in this form of motorsports and keep them coming back to those events. Some major stars raced in this body’s shows last season, and almost certainly, even more will compete this year with the money being put up and the other enticements being offered to those who enter.
Further, the XR Super Series has been created which will incorporate the events held last year with new shows at different venues. The new tour has laid out a 23-race slate that will feature no less than ten events offering $50,000-to-win purses and will pay at least $2,500-to-start each feature. Although there will be some conflicts, most of these highly lucrative races are scheduled in such a way that the sport’s top stars can enter without having to worry about conflict with other big events or national touring shows.
The XR promotional group not only promotes races on site but also offers pay-per-view subscriptions for online viewing through its raceXR.com web address.
For the second consecutive year, XR will promote the Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals. This event began last year when the Bristol Motor Speedway had its high-banked concrete surface covered with clay. In its return, the races held at “The Last Great Colosseum” will offer significant purses along with other incentives meant to encourage full participation by competitors.
In 2021, Chris Ferguson collected $10,000 for a win on the first night of the Bristol Dirt Nationals then Jonathan Davenport was awarded a $50,000 payday for his triumph on the second night of that event. The payouts will be even greater this time around.
Not only will competitors be racing for four separate $50,000-to-win purses on the high banks of Bristol in 2022 but the promotional group has also added a points fund that will offer a monster payout at the completion of the four races held at BMS on the weekends of March 25 & 26 and April 1st & 2nd.
XR plans to debut a $300,000 points fund for its Bristol-sanctioned Super Late Model events. Drivers competing in the four SLM features will accumulate points with points positions 1-24 being rewarded with additional money as part of the program after the fourth race. The Bristol points champion will earn an extra $100,000 on top of the posted race winnings.
Further, the 2022 Double Down Triple Crown bonus fund will pay out a $300,000 points fund which is to be divided among racers who enter the Colossal 100 at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Texas Dirt Nationals at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track, and the Duel in the Desert at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The DDTC rewards drivers who compete in three specific events, then doubles their payout on the final night of competition. This year’s Double Down Triple Crown- for races held at Charlotte, Texas and Las Vegas- will double the November 12 payout at the Karl Chevrolet Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas. If a driver attempts all features at all three events, no matter where they finish at the Duel, their pay is doubled.
In 2021, Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Illinois took advantage of the Double Down Triple Crown reward when he scored a $50,000 win in Las Vegas then had that amount doubled to $100,000 because of his perfect attendance in the previous XR-sanctioned races.
Add to those bonuses the fact that the XR Super Series has been created and will contest 25 races over the course of the 2022 season with 23 of those shows paying no less than $25,000-to-win. Ten of the scheduled XRSS events will dole out $50,000 to the eventual victor. The 23 features offering $25,000 or more to the winner will pay $2,500-to-start.
Drivers and teams who remain loyal to the series may also be eligible for perks such as pit passes, merchandise space, and VIP parking stalls.

Dan Robinson, who formerly served as the General Manager of Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri and later Vice-President of Motorsports Operations for the Lucas Oil brand, was hired late in 2021 to lead the XR efforts as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer.
“We’re serious when we say the XR Super Series is focused on rewarding drivers and teams,” Robinson declared in a press release. “With everything we’ve done so far, that has been top of mind, and this announcement certainly shows that as well. The landscape is changing, and we want to make sure we take care of the drivers who compete in our events.”
The 2022 XR Super Series will feature stops at Bristol Motor Speedway, Florida’s All-Tech Raceway, the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Belleville High Banks in Kansas, Iowa’s Stuart International Speedway, Wisconsin’s Gondik Law Speedway, the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track and The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With the exception of Gondik Law, each of those venues will play host to multiple feature races. The XR Super Series will begin in Bristol on March 25th and end at All-Tech Raceway on December 3rd.
With several races being run midweek or on off weekends for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series, there are relatively few conflicts with those tours considering the number of races scheduled. Also, the two events on the Belleville High Banks will be held on the Monday and Tuesday following the Dream weekend at Eldora Speedway giving those who wish to compete in both that opportunity.
The XR promotional group is certainly making a bid to thrust itself into the top tier of the Dirt Late Model world. Whether it has anything to do with this new organization or not cannot yet be known but far fewer of the most well-known drivers in the sport have solidified their schedules for the upcoming season. Perhaps the money being offered by not only this sanction but in other races as well might have at least some thinking of running more of a pick-and-choose campaign in 2022 rather than locking in solely with one tour.
