Mike Marlar leads start to finish to claim Eldora A feature on Friday night

Mike Marlar was victorious at Eldora on Friday night

Mike Marlar scored a Castrol FloRacing Night in America win at Eldora Speedway earlier this season and on Friday night he led flag-to-flag in the first of two features to capture the checkered flag in a Dirt Late Model Dream preliminary event. In a race that would go caution-free, the No. 157 car controlled the pace throughout most of the race on the historic Eldora Speedway clay.

The Longhorn Chassis driver from Winfield, Tennessee earned $12,000 for the win on the track located in Rossburg, Ohio in a race shown live by FloRacing.com.

A total of 96 cars were signed in for competition

Feature Re-cap: Marlar immediately took the lead at the start of the 25-lap main event for those drivers assigned to Group A with Davenport, Thornton, Strickler and Owens trailing. Chris Ferguson made an early move when he passed Owens for fifth on the second circuit. One lap later, Thornton and Strickler engaged in a battle that would see them swap the third position a couple of times before Thornton emerged with the position.

Ferguson rose to fourth on lap 9 when he passed Strickler for the spot.

Marlar appeared to be in control just after the halfway mark as a furious fight for position between the likes of Ferguson, Strickler, Shirley, Owens, Bronson and Robinson raged further back.

As the laps dwindled and slower traffic became a factor, Davenport closed the gap on Marlar in hopes of challenging for the lead. But in the end, it was Marlar who would earn the win.
