It looked like the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night was going to be a cake walk for Brad Sweet. However, Logan Schuchart made big gains on the last lap and dove to the inside coming out of the last turn to just edge the four-time champion at the finish line and grab the win in the opening of two evenings in the Summer Nationals to claim the Morgan Cup.
The Shark Racing driver from Hanover, PA earned $15,000 from the track located in Mechanicsburg, PA in a race shown live by DirtVision.com.

Feature Re-cap: At the start of the 25-lap main event it would be Sweet taking the early lead ahead of Schuchart, Abreu, Macedo and Marks. The top-5 would run in the order for much of the race’s first half with Sweet working to slip away from the pack even after encountering slower traffic.
Peck entered the top-5 on lap 12 when he passed Marks on lap 12 but Marks regained the position one lap later. But up ahead, Sweet had built a lead of 2.5 seconds over Schuchart by lap 15.
Haudenschild began to climb up the running order on lap 18 when he took sixth away from Peck. Later he would get by Marks for fifth and eventually Macedo to claim fourth,
But it would be on the last lap where the drama would unfold. Sweet bumped the cushion coming off of turn four as he looked to take the white flag. That contact filled his right rear wheel with mud causing a significant shake. With his car slowing, Schuchart closed as the lead duo entered the third turn.
Coming off of turn four, Schuchart swung to the inside and barely nipped Sweet at the finish line by .078 seconds.
It was the first ever World of Outlaws win at Williams Grove for the Pennsylvania native.
