Live Updates: WoO Late Models at Volunteer Speedway(6-19-20)

InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the $10,000-to-win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series event at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Friday evening, June 19, 2020. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next event there will be the “Smoky Mountain Summer Showdown” featuring a $10,000-to-win Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals race on July 10, 2020.

General Information:

Weather is expected to be warm with a slight chance for rain.

Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.

Brandon Sheppard currently leads the World of Outlaws Late Model Series standings over Ricky Weiss, Darrell Lanigan, Chris Madden and Chase Junghans.

Sheppard has scored three WoO Late Models feature wins so far in 2020 while Weiss has collected two victories.

The feature will be 50 laps for $10,000-to-win.

7:50- Local classes out packing the track. A little rain shower earlier has delayed things just a bit.

8:20- Got some water weepers coming up through the track at the exit of turn 4. Track crew is working on it.

8:47- Hot laps for all classes about to begin.

9:12- WoO Late Model hot laps on the track.

9:50- WoO Late Model qualifying underway

Lap 3 caution. Bloomquist slid up the track in turn 1 on the start which allowed Overton to get by him and Strickler.

Lap 6 caution for J Wolfenbarger. Strickler got by Overton for the lead just before the caution. Strickler leads Overton, Bloomquist, Erb, Sheppard.

Lap 27 caution. Hard racing throughout the pack. Strickler leads Erb, Bloomquist, Sheppard, Overton, Junghans, Dillard Strickler has been riding on what appears to be a flat left front tire for several laps.

Shortly after the restart Overton pulled off the track while leading.

Lap 45 caution. A crazy lap 27 restart jumbled the running order. Sheppard now leads Erb, Dillard, Winger, Strickler, Bloomquist

Lap 46 caution for Larson. Sheppard leads Erb, Dillard, Winger, Bloomquist

Strickler stopped on track with a mechanical issue.
