InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series sanctioned Battle of Bluegrass and United Crate Racing Alliance races from Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. on Saturday evening, April 2, 2016. Classes in action: Ultimate SLM Series Battle of Bluegrass for $5,000-to-win, UCRA Crate Late Models for $2,500-to-win, and Street Stocks.

*Please Note: These updates will focus primarily on the Super Late Model and Crate Late Model races. Any other updates will be dependent on a number of factors including obtaining photos and/or stories related to that event.

General Information:

Weather is cool but clear.

Drivers meeting is set for 6:30 with hot laps to begin soon thereafter.

This will be the first race for the newly formed Battle of Bluegrass Series sanctioned by the Ultimate SLM Series.

This will be the second UCRA event of 2016. Riley Hickman won the first race of the season at Duck River.

6:45- Drivers meeting underway.

7:00- Hot laps underway.

7:45- All hot laps complete. Qualifying for Ultimate Supers and UCRA about to begin.

Heat Race Results: There will be two heat races with the top-6 from each transferring to the feature.

*Kerr led all the way. There was a hard crash between Winger and Elliott but both were ok.

Heat 2 Results: 1. Linville, 2. Ridley, 3. Best, 4. Franklin, 5. Latham, 6. Moses

*Linville led from the start. Great racing behind him.

Feature Notes:

9:55- Feature rolling out. 40 laps for $5000.

10:00- Four wide!

10:02- Green flag!

Lap 11 caution as Ferguson spins while challenging McIntosh for the lead in heavy traffic. Hickman had no where to go and was collected. Moses also involved. Ferguson continues at the tail. Hickman has been placed in second by series officials. McIntosh leads Hickman, Ames, Kerr, Hedgecock, Ellis, Hill, Collins, McCarter, Ridley.

Roberts suffered mechanical issues and dropped out while challenging for the lead on lap 7.

Lap 21 caution for slowing car of McCarter. McIntosh leads Ames, Kerr, Ellis, Hickman, Ridley, Collins, Hedgecock.

Lap 22 caution for flat on Latham. The yellow negated a big move by Hedgecock, who had just gained three spots. Hickman pulls off as right side body damage was causing handling issues.

Lap 28 caution as Giffin slows. McIntosh had built a sizeable lead over Ames, Kerr, Ridley, Hedgecock, Collins, Ellis, Croft, Reaid and Ferguson.

McIntosh, who had been battling illness earlier in the night, pulled away at the end. It was a clean sweep for Blount Motorsports on their home track.

Halfway. Caution free so far. Hickman leads Ford, Teague, Trent and Hedgecock. Leaders in traffic.

Lap 26 caution for slowing Cooper. Hickman has been dominant. Teague moved around Ford for 2nd on lap 23. Hedgecock is 4th followed by Trent, Fields, Martin, Huskey and Ballenger.
