InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates for the Spring Nationals Super Late Model Series race from Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. on Saturday evening, March 12, 2016. These updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

Classes in action: B-main and feature races for the $15,000-to-win Spring Nationals event(qualifying and heats were held on Friday night) and Street Stocks racing for $2,000-to-win.

*Please Note: These updates will focus primarily on the Spring Nationals races. Any other updates will be dependent on a number of factors including obtaining photos and/or stories related to that event.

General Information:

Drivers meeting is set for 6:30 with hot laps to begin soon thereafter.

6:30- Drivers meeting underway.

6:57- Hot laps underway.

7:20- Hot laps for those in the B-main are complete.

*Weaver led all the way. Boles spun on lap 1 of the initial start then retired from the race.

*Coulter led all the way. Pierce crashed on lap 2.

*Bloomquist took the early lead with Madden challenging early. The two made contact on lap 3 causing damage to the nose of Madden’s car and the right rear of Bloomquist.

**Madden has been disqualified for the weekend due to a post-race incident.

9:15- Cars being called to staging. 75 laps for $15,000.

9:22- Cars lined up on the front stretch for introduction.

Just announced that this is the largest crowd to ever see a race at Smoky Mountain.

9:28- Four wide!

9:31- Green flag!

Lap 10 caution free. Weaver, Bloomquist, Lanigan, Marlar, McDowell, Landers, Owens

Lap 20 still caution free. Running order same as above.

Lap 30 still caution free. Weaver leads but Bloomquist is there. Marlar, Lanigan,McDowell.

Lap 38 caution. Bloomquist took the lead from Weaver on lap 35 then Weaver got back under him on lap 38. As they raced hard into turn 3 there was contact and Bloomquist slid up into a slower car. Marlar, Lanigan, McDowell, Landers, Owens, O’Neal and McIntosh follow. Bloomquist has been placed back in the lead.

Lap 45- Bloomquist pulling away from Weaver, Marlar, McDowell, Lanigan, Owens.

Lap 55- Leaders in traffic. Bloomquist leads Weaver, Marlar, McDowell, Lanigan.

Lap 58 caution for Kerr. Bloomquist leads Weaver, Marlar, McDowell, Lanigan, Owens, Landers, McIntosh, O’Neal, Pearson, Buckingham.

Lap 59 caution for flat on Moses. Running order is Bloomquist, Weaver, Marlar, McDowell, Lanigan, Landers, Owens, McIntosh, O’Neal, Pearson, Buckingham, King, Coulter

Bloomquist drove away after the final caution to win by a straightaway.
