Live Updates: Spring Nationals at Volunteer Speedway(4-14-18)

Classes in action: Spring Nationals Super Late Models for $10.052-to-win(52 laps) along with Crate Late Models for $1,500-to-win, Sportsman, Modified Street and Classics.

General Information: Drivers meeting is slated for 6:30 with hot laps to begin soon thereafter.

Weather is expected to be warm with a chance for showers very late.

This is the second of a two-race weekend for the Spring Nationals with Dakotah Knuckles picking up the win at Tazewell Speedway on Friday night.

This race is named in honor of legendary east Tennessee driver Scott Sexton who passed away in 2013.

Heat Race Results: There will be four heat races with the top-4 from each transferring to the feature.

*Roberts took the lead on the start with Jameson challenging most of the way.

Heat 2 Finish- 1. Hill, 2. Knuckles, 3. Kinzer, 4. Payne

*Hill used a crossover move to grab the lead in turn 2 on the first lap and led the rest of the way.

Heat 3 Finish- 1. McIntosh, 2. Marlar, 3. McDowell, 4. Trent

*McIntosh used the outside front to his advantage and took the lead on the start.

Heat 4 Finish- 1. Owens, 2. Wells, 3. Buckingham, 4. Miller

*Owens was dominant.

Halfway caution free. McIntosh leads Roberts, Owens, McDowell, Hill.

Lap 44 caution. McIntosh leads but McDowell was closing fast. Roberts is third followed by Owens, Hill, Hedgecock, Jameson, Buckingham, Marlar, Wells.

Lap 49 caution for spin by Miller. McDowell took the lead on lap 46 and now holds it over McIntosh, Roberts, Owens, Hill and Hedgecock.

Feature Notes:

11:23- Feature rolling out. 30 laps for $1500.

Lap 17 caution for spin. Sise and Henry engaged in a great lead swapping battle with Lowe, Ballenger and Hedgecock right behind them.

Henry took the lead on the restart but the lap does not count due to a caution.

Lap 18 caution for Henry into back stretch wall while in a hard race for second with Hedgecock and Lowe. Sise leads Hedgecock, Lowe, Martin, Courtney, Crittenden

Lap 23 caution for spin by a slower car that also collects Ballenger. Hedgecock took the lead on lap 19 with a slide job in turn 2. Sise is now second with Lowe, Martin and Williams following.

Lowe spins on the restart after contact from Martin. Lowe given his spot back and Martin chooses to pull off rather go to the tail.

Track officials just decide to end this after all the caution flags.
