Classes in action: Southern Nationals Super Late Models for $10,000-to-win(53 laps), Sportsman, Super Stocks and Classics.

*These updates will focus primarily on the Southern Nationals. Due to spotty cell reception, updates will be limited.

General Information: 

Racing action is scheduled to begin 7:45.

Weather is expected to be very warm with a chance for pop up showers.

Devin Gilpin currently leads the Southern Nationals standings over Ricky Weiss, Shanon Buckingham, Vic Hill, Donald McIntosh, Stacy Boles, Chris Brown, Gavin Landers, Craig Vosbergen and Robby Moses.

7:15- Drivers meeting underway.

A rain shower that lasted from 7:45-8:00 has caused a delay.

8:25- Track packing underway. Hot laps should be coming up shortly.

8:55- Track is almost ready. Hot laps coming shortly.

9:07- Hot laps underway for support classes.

Heat Race Results: There will be four heat races with the top-5 transferring to the feature.

Heat 1 Finish – 1. Bloomquist, 2. Payne, 3. Boles, 4. Bailey, 5. Cobble

*Bloomquist won by a straightaway.

Heat 2 Finish – 1. Weiss, 2. Hill, 3. Moses, 4. Knuckles, 5. Horton

*Teammates Weiss and Hill drove away.

Heat 3 Finish – 1. Vosbergen, 2. Lloyd, 3. C Ogle, 4. Buckingham, 5. Collins

*It was a tight four car battle at the front. B Ogle dropped out while leading on lap 5.

Heat 4 Finish – 1. Gilpin, 2. Wolfenbarger, 3. McIntosh, 4. B Smith, 5. Fultz

*Gilpin led all the way but Wolfenbarger and McIntosh were right there.

Lap 13 caution for Lloyd slow on track. Bloomquist leads Vosbergen, Weiss, Payne, Gilpin, Hill, C Ogle, Wolfenbarger, McIntosh. Bloomquist had a straightaway lead at time of the caution.

Lap 19 caution for the smoking car of Weiss, who was running third. Bloomquist still dominant over Vosbergen, Payne, Gilpin, Hill, Wolfenbarger, C Ogle, McIntosh, Bailey, Buckingham, Moses

Bloomquist completely dominated. Not a lot of passing. Payne dropped out with 3 to go while running 3rd.
