General Information:
Weather Forecast: Daytime high in the 80s with nighttime lows dropping into the 60s with the possibility of scattered showers.
Drivers Meeting: 6:30pm
Feature Payout: $4,053-to-win. 40 laps
Track Description: 4/10 mile mile clay oval with banked turns.
Other Classes: Sportsman, Street Stock, Classic, and Front Wheel Drive
Pre-race Notes: Josh Rice won the Southern Nationals opener on Friday night at Beckley Motorsports Park.
6:27- It has started to rain here at the track.
6:32- Track indicating that they hope to be able to wait it out.
6:46- Word on the Volunteer Speedway PA is “Hang tight. We are going to do our best to get this show in.” Rain has greatly diminished.
6:56- Rain has completely stopped. Track prep will be needed.
7:11- A light rain has started again.
7:36- Volunteer Speedway asking for anyone with a four wheeler or an ATV to help begin the process of running the track in.
8:30- Hot laps for all classes underway.
8:49- Cars coming back off the track as a light rain has started to fall.
9:45- This race has been rained out. The makeup date will be Sunday, August 1st.
