Live Updates: North-South 100 at Florence Speedway(8-11-18)

InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned North-South 100 from Florence Speedway in Union, KY on Saturday evening, August 11, 2018. These updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

Classes in action: Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for $50,000-to-win.

*Please Note: These updates will focus primarily on the LOLMDS race.

General Information: Drivers meeting slated for 7:00pm with racing set to begin at 7:30pm.

Weather is expected to be warm with possible showers during the afternoon but clearing conditions by evening.

Jonathan Davenport currently leads the LOLMDS standings ahead of Scott Bloomquist, Josh Richards, Earl Pearson Jr., Don O’Neal, Bobby Pierce, Jimmy Owens, Tim McCreadie, Hudson O’Neal, and Gregg Satterlee.

Hudson O’Neal and Tim McCreadie won Lucas Oil-sanctioned races here at Florence on Wednesday and Thursday.

This will be the final race of the season for Hudson O’Neal due to an impending shoulder surgery and recovery.

This race is considered to be one of the crown jewels of Dirt Late Model racing.

6:40- A light rain shower passed by but it has stopped now so everything appears to be pretty much on schedule.

7:00- Drivers meeting underway.

8:15- After some additional prep time due to the rain, the first Lucas Oil B-main is about to get underway.

8:45- Hot laps for the cars in the B-mains about to wrap up.

B-main Results: The top-16 cars on the feature starting grid were determined by passing points during heat races. The remainder of the field for the North-South 100 will be set by three B-main races with the top-2 from each transferring to the main event.

*Satterlee led all the way. McIntosh raced his way from the tail to sixth. Race ran caution free.

*Bloomquist led the first 11 laps but blew a left rear tire while racing close with Bronson. Bronson had moved to second around Dohm on a lap 9 restart. Bloomquist will have to take a provisional.

Boggs led all the way. Richards pulled off on lap 8 and will have to take a provisional.

Lap 1 caution for Rice slow on track. H O”Neal leads Overton, Pearson, D O’Neal, Weiss, Hoffman, Owens, Robinson, Mars

Lap 10- Pearson leads Weiss, H O’Neal, Overton, D O’Neal

Lap 16 caution for problems on Pierce. Pearson took the lead on lap 7 and still holds it over Weiss, H O’Neal, Overton, D O’Neal, Mars, Owens, Robinson, Hoffman, Davenport

Lap 18 caution for Chilton. Pearson leads Weiss, H O’Neal, D O’Neal, Overton, Owens. Big break for Owens who had jumped the cushion and lost several spots but got them back since the lap didn’t count.

Lap 34 caution for McCreadie. Pearson leads Weiss, H O’Neal, D O’Neal, Owens, Mars, Robinson, Hoffman, McDowell, Bronson, Zeigler, Bloomquist, Davenport, Dohm, Richards

Halfway- Pearson leads but Weiss is pressuring and Owens is lurking.

Lap 59 caution for Hensley. Pearson leads Weiss, Owens, H O’Neal, D O’Neal, Mars, Robinson, Hoffman, McDowell, Zeigler. Bloomquist to the hot pit for a tire change – he had been 11th. Zeigler and Davenport to the hot pit. Pearson also pits.

Caution on the restart for Pearson slow on track. He hadn’t quite caught up with the pack. Weiss now leads Owens, H O’Neal, D O’Neal and Mars.

Mars crashes on the restart. Appeared to be upset with one of the O’Neals. Pearson also has damage.

Lap 65 caution. Weiss leads H O”Neal, Owens, Robinson, Hoffman, D O’Neal, McDowell.

Lap 76 caution for Pearson. Weiss continues to lead over Owens, H O’Neal, McDowell, Hoffman, Davenport, Dohm, D O’Neal, McCreadie, D Erb, Robinson, Lanigan, Richards, Bloomquist.

Lap 87 caution for Bronson. Weiss had a lead of a straightaway over Owens, H O’Neal, McDowell, Dohm, Hoffman, Davenport, Robinson. Richards also pitted.

Richards barely made it back out then slowed to bring out a caution.

Lap 91 caution. Weiss and H O’Neal just ran three laps side-by-side for lead with Weiss holding it.

Great race by Weiss. Was pretty much flawless.
