InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Models Series race from the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC for Friday night, June 5, 2015. Tonight’s updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

*Please Note: These updates will focus primarily on the NeSmith race. Any other updates will be dependent on a number of factors, including attempts to get photos or stories from the main event. Also, my cell phone reception is very spotty at Tri-County, which could hamper my ability to deliver updates.

General Information: Racing is set to begin at 7:30pm.

Weather is expected to be warm with a slight chance for a stray thundershower.

Ray Cook will race here tonight for the first time since he took ownership of the track. He did not attempt to qualify as he will voluntarily start last in the feature.

Feature Notes:

9:40- Cars rolling out to the front straight for driver introductions.

9:54- Driver intros are over and engines have fired.

Feature is 40 laps for $2000.

10:02- Green flag!

Lap 5 caution for Deaver stopped on track. Henderson leads King, Owenby, Shook, Johnson, Deal.

Lap 23 caution as Lyons and Schutte tangle on the front stretch. Henderson still leads. Owenby, King, Johnson, Deal, Smith, Collins, Crane and Martin follow. The racing at the front has been intense, especially in traffic. Johnson just gave up 4th under the caution with a flat tire.

Lap 25 caution for spin by Shook. Henderson still leads Owenby, King, Deal, Smith and Elliott.

Lap 33 caution for spin by Johnson. Owenby took the lead on lap 31 with an aggressive move around Henderson. The two cars had contact off of two. Henderson might have broken something in his left front.
