*Please Note: These updates will focus solely on the Carolina Clash race. Timeliness of the show could also impact the updates.

General Information: Drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:30pm.

Weather is expected to be cloudy with no chance of rain and seasonable temperatures.

5:25- Call has gone out for the drivers meeting.

5:55- Hot laps about to start.

Chris Ferguson and Don O’Neal were fastest in SLM hot laps.

Carolina Clash Super Late Models

Qualifying Results: Cars will qualify and heat race in three groups. The fastest car in qualifying will have his group made No. 1 for the heats.

Group 1- 1. Madden(14.816), 2. O’Neal, 3. Roberts, 4. Hammond, 5. Rominger

Group 2- 1. Ferguson (14.654), 2. Bailes, 3. Watkins, 4. Pursley, 5. A Sanders

Group 3- 1. Allen(14.993), 2. Sessoms, 3. Franklin, 4. McCormick, 5. Guy

Ferguson’s qualifying group will become group 1 in the heat races and the winner of that race will start the feature from the pole. Madden’s qualifying group will be group 2 in the heats and Allen’s group will be group 3.

Heat Race Results:

Heat 1 finish- 1. Bailes, 2. Pursley, 3. Watkins, 4. Mitchell, 5. A Sanders

*Ferguson’s car suffers a mechanical problem on the pace lap and has to be pushed to the pits. The car had a broken rear end. Another was borrowed and he will start from the tail in the feature.

They will start the feature from positions 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16 & 19.

Heat 2 finish- 1. O’Neal, 2. Madden, 3. Roberts, 4. Hammond, 5. Rominger

They will start the feature from positions 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17 & 20.

Heat 3 finish- 1. Sessoms, 2. Allen, 3. McCormick, 4. Guy, 5. Bailey

*Franklin blew a right rear tire while running second.

They will start the feature from positions 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 & 21.

Feature Notes: Tonight’s feature is 100 laps. However, caution laps will be counted up to lap 80.

9:55- Feature rolling out.

10:04- Green flag!

Lap 1 caution as Bailes slows suddenly. O’Neal leads Pursley, Sessoms, Madden, Roberts, Allen and Watkins. Bailes returns.

Lap 10 caution. O’Neal leads but Madden now second then Sessoms, Roberts, Pursley, Allen. Ferguson started at the rear and is already 6th.

Red flag for a big pileup on that last restart when Sessoms got sideways in turn one and numerous cars were collected.

Lap 44- Long Green run. O’Neal leads Roberts, Madden, Pursley and Ferguson in tight race.

Lap 45 caution. Racing has been very tight, especially in traffic. Roberts has looked under O’Neal multiple times but can’t complete the pass.

Lap 53 caution. Madden reclaimed second from Roberts just after the last restart. O’Neal still leads. Current order is O’Neal, Madden, Roberts, Pursley, Ferguson, Watkins, Franklin and A Sanders. Caution was for blown tire McCormick.

25 to go. O’Neal pulling away from Madden and Roberts.

Lap 80 Roberts pulls off.

Lap 84 caution for stalled car of A Sanders. O’Neal leads Madden, Pursley, Franklin, Ferguson, Watkins.

Worth noting that Bailes had come up to 7th but just changed tires.

O’Neal has a problem on the restart. Ferguson and Pursley made a huge move but had to give spots back when caution came out. Ferguson car has a miss in the engine.

O’Neal had suffered a flat. He is back out on new tires. He’s in 6th.

Lap 90 caution. Bailes and O’Neal were flying on new tires. Both were trying to pass Pursley for second when Bailes got pinched into the wall. Madden leads Pursley, O’Neal, Franklin,Watkins.

O’Neal was charging at the end but Madden maintained the lead.

*Trent Ivey wins the SECA Crate LM feature over Steve Banal and Dillon Brown.
