Dustin Linville of Bryantsburg, Kentucky dominated Friday night’s Firecracker 40 at Wartburg Speedway. The win was worth $4,000.
Despite the start being delayed for a couple of hours due to rain and extra track prep time, Linville started the night by setting fast time out of 17 late models with a lap of 12.040 seconds around the 1/4-mile bullring. Linville also won the fast car dash to earn the pole position for the 40-lap race.
Linville blistered the field during the main event to capture the win. Linville lapped all but the top 4 cars.
The biggest incident of the night was between Anthony White and Stacy Boles. The two made contact battling for second before Boles came to a stop to bring out a caution. Boles retired from the race.
Anthony White finished second followed by Jason Manley, Billy Ogle Jr., and Jason Welshan rounded out the top 5.
