By lap 5, O’Neal had stretched his advantage to two seconds over McCreadie. Further back, Clanton passed by Chris Ferguson to claim the fifth position on lap 6.

Tyler Erb slowed on lap 14 to bring out a yellow flag. At that time, O’Neal was leading McCreadie, Winger, Strickler, Clanton, Carson Ferguson, Zeigler, McDowell, Chris Ferguson and English.

On the lap 14 restart, Strickler moved to third pushing Winger back to fourth. He then moved in to challenge McCreadie for second but the Lucas Oil champ held the spot. Again, O’Neal built a significant lead over the pack.

Hughes stalled on lap 19 to bring out another yellow flag.

McCreadie took the lead on the restart with a crossover move going into turn one. Winger moved to third by passing Strickler but both Strickler and Clanton would then pass Winger for third and fourth respectively.
