Whitener went back to the front on lap 40 with Overton and Davenport in his tire tracks. Davenport went to the runner-up position on lap 42 then closed on Whitener to challenge for the lead. With five laps remaining, the No. 49 went to the lead running right on the bottom of the speedway but Whitener fought to stay close.
Overton grabbed second on lap 48 but it would be Davenport who would sail to the checkered flag to claim yet another win in 2022.
