Davenport regained the top spot on lap 12 just before a caution for the slowing car of Erb. On the restart, Thornton moved into second behind Davenport with Moran, Troutman and O’Neal rounding out the top-5.

Davenport built a lead of more than two second by the time the race reached its halfway point. While the top-5 held station, Shirley was on the rise when he took sixth on lap 25 then moved to fifth one lap later pushing Troutman back a position.

Moran took second back on lap 29 three seconds behind the race leader. Moran began to cut into the lead as they raced through traffic while Thornton, O’Neal and Shirley fought over the remaining spots in the top-5.

Despite a late charge by Moran that saw him slash the lead to less than one second, Davenport went on to take the checkered flag ahead of the pack.
