The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series made its way to Huset’s Speedway on Saturday night to contest the most lucrative race in series history. David Gravel came away from Billion Auto High Bank Nationals as the big winner after rain delayed the action then another competitor’s misfortune opened the door for the No. 2 to take the lead.

Feature Re-cap: The 40-lap feature got underway with Kofoid leading Gravel, Schuchart, Abreu and Scelzi. Haudenschild took sixth from Larson on lap 5 then the leaders quickly went into single-file formation around the lightning fast track during the opening laps.

Haudenschild moved into fifth by passing Scelzi on lap 11 opening the door for Larson to also move by Scelzi. Meanwhile, Kofoid was setting the pace at the front of the field  but he began to encounter slower traffic at the same time.

Larson passed back by Haudenschild to grab fifth on lap 15. Schuchart began to make a move toward the front when he wrested second away from Gravel on lap 22. But five laps later, Gravel would retake the position. Abreu moved by Schuchart to grab third on lap 29.

Kofoid’s apparent race winning night went up in smoke on lap 30 when his car suffered mechanical issues.

Just after the restart, a multi-car incident involving Scelzi, McFadden, Haudenschild and Kaeding brought out a red flag.

Gravel, who inherited the lead following Kofoid’s trouble, took off with Abreu in pursuit. The issue remained in doubt until the final set of turns.
