Brandon Overton scores Lucas Oil Group B preliminary at Port Royal

The Longhorn Chassis driver from Evans, Georgia earned $5,000 from the track located in Port Royal, Pennsylvania in a race shown live by FloRacing.com.

Feature Re-cap: The 25-lap feature got underway with Brandon Overton leading Davenport, Marlar, Norris and Erb. By lap 5, Overton appeared to be slipping away from the pack. However, Davenport closed back in on lap 8.

Troutman passed Erb for fifth on lap 10 but that gain would be short lived as Troutman’s car would slow on lap 12 with a blown engine to bring out a yellow flag.

Just after the restart, Ferguson took fifth away from Erb. Davenport had just passed Overton for the lead when a caution came out on lap 15 but a yellow flag would negate the move.

Marlar went by Davenport for second following the lap 15 restart as Overton continued to show the way. Davenport would regain the runner-up position on lap 22 and immediately closed in on Overton.

Overton made a slick move to get by a slower car and hold off Davenport as Marlar made a late bid to get back into the mix. Both Davenport and Marlar closed in on Overton on the last lap as a near three-wide battle came off of turn four with Overton winning the race to the finish line.
