Bobby Pierce seems to be hitting mid-season form as he has begun to pile up strong finishes and that continued on Thursday night when he scored a World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series feature at Farmer City Raceway. The driver of the No. 32 machine gained on series points leader Chris Madden with the victory on his home track in the Farmer City Showdown in what is slated to be the first of a three-race weekend for the WoO Late Models.
The Longhorn Chassis driver from Oakwood, Illinois earned $10,000 from the track located in Farmer City, Illinois in a race aired live by DirtVision.com.

Feature Re-cap: When the 40-lap feature went green it was Hoffman who emerged from the three-wide fight with Madden and Pierce to take the early lead. Madden kept it close in the opening laps as Erb and English worked to keep pace with the top-3.
Hoffman began to slip away by lap 9 as Madden, Pierce and Erb battled behind him. But a lap 12 caution for Walker on lap 12 slowed the pace.
Pierce moved to second on the lap 12 restart as Hoffman continued to show the way. Further back, Bronson moved into the top-5 just before halfway behind Hoffman, Madden, Pierce and Erb. Top-10 running Clanton slowed on lap 19 to bring out the race’s second yellow flag.
Bronson took fourth on the restart with Madden getting shuffled back to fifth. Pierce closed to the rear of Hoffman’s car as he looked to make a move for the race lead. On lap 28, Pierce’s efforts paid off in traffic as he passed by Hoffman for the top spot after the No. 9 was pinned behind a slower machine.
Gustin moved by Madden for fifth with six laps remaining while, at the front, Hoffman went side-by-side with Pierce for the lead with Pierce holding on. Bronson and Erb fought over third just before a lap 37 caution was displayed for the slowing car of Cooney.
Pierce would show the way to the checkered flag when the racing action resumed.
“Lot of laps here,” Pierce stated in victory lane to DirtVision.com. “Here and Tri-City are probably the most laps I’ve had on race tracks growing up. I spent a lot of nights cutting my teeth here. I got my first Crate Late Model win here. I guess it just fits me. That was a little more hammer down than I’d like to see it, for sure. It was a good race. I got the pick there with the lapped car and that was my only move to make it happen.”
