Chris Madden completed a clean sweep this weekend at the East Alabama Motor Speedway when he set fast time in qualifying, won his heat race then led every lap of the main event to score the victory on Sunday night. The Hunt the Front Dirt Super Dirt Series officiated the 49th running of the National 100 which provided ‘Smokey’ with is third win in the prestigious event.
The Longhorn Chassis driver from Gray Court, SC earned $49,000 from the track located in Phenix City, Alabama in a race aired live by Hunt The Front.
A total of 40 cars were signed in for competition.
Qualifying and heat races were held on Saturday.

Feature Re-cap: When the 100-lap feature took the green flag it was Madden who went to the lead with Stephens, Overton, Owens and Cook trailing. But the pace would be slowed just after the completion of the first lap when Moseley slipped off the track on the backstretch.
Putnam slowed on lap 3 to bring out another yellow flag negating a pass just made by Overton for the second position. On the restart, Owens got by Overton for third behind Madden and Stephens.
Herrington spun to cause a caution on lap 5 with Madden continuing to lead Stephens, Owens, Overton, Cook and Thornton.
Owens closed in to challenge Stephens for second on lap 12 about two seconds behind Madden. Those efforts would pay off on lap 15 when the No. 20 machine swept by to claim the runner-up spot. Soon thereafter, Overton would also get by Stephens moving him to third.
With the race seeing a stretch of green flag laps, Madden began to encounter slower traffic by lap 20 as he led Owens and Overton. One-third of the way through the event, Madden lead by just under two seconds over Owens, Overton, Stephens, Cook. Bronson, Thornton, Tyler Erb, Dennis Erb Jr. and Winger.
Overton got by Owens for second when the No. 20 got caught up behind a slower car. Owens then passed Overton back but a caution brought out by a McIntosh spin on lap 35 negated the move as well as erasing the advantage held by Madden.
On a lap 36 restart, 5th running Cook spun and collected Dennis Erb Jr. Cook would have to go to the pit area for repairs. Once the race returned to green flag action Thornton Jumped to fourth behind Madden, Overton and Owens.
One lap prior to halfway, Slay slowed to bring out a yellow flag. Madden continued to lead ahead of Owens, Overton. Thornton and Bronson. Madden pulled away to a two-second advantage soon after the green flag waved again. However, Owens would cut the distance in half in traffic.
Horton spun on lap 70 to bring out a yellow flag. On the restart, Bronson got by both Overton and Thornton to move into third.
Madden continued to control the pace as the feature passed the 80-lap mark with Owens and Bronson working to keep up. As the laps clicked away, Madden and Owens ran up front with a fierce battle for third between Bronson, Overton and Thornton taking place further back until McIntosh stopped on track to bring out a caution on lap 91.
During the caution period, Overton pulled off track for a new right rear tire.
Over the closing laps, Madden continued to show the way eventually winning by just over one second.
