Chris Madden took the lead midway through the feature
Chris Madden took the lead from Brandon Overton just after the halfway point in a preliminary race for Saturday’s $50,000-to-win NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 to earn a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory at Deer Creek Speedway.
The Rocket Chassis driver from Gray Court, SC earned $5,000 for his efforts on the track located in Spring Valley, Minnesota in a race shown live by FloRacing.com.
A total of 37 cars were signed in for competition

Feature Re-cap: The 25-lap feature began with Overton leading Madden, Pierce, Davenport and Thornton trailing. Those top-5 cars sorted out into single-file formation over the early laps until the leaders found themselves racing among slower traffic.
On lap 14 Madden closed in and issued a challenge to Overton which proved to be successful with an outside pass in turn one. From that point, Madden controlled the race with a hornet’s nest involving Overton, Pierce, Davenport and Thornton.
But in the quickly run, caution free race it was Madden who would come home the winner.
