Feature Re-cap: The 25-lap feature took the green flag with Marks leading the way ahead of Sweet, Allen, Schuchart and Kofoid. Sweet immediately began to apply pressure to the race leader as the top-2 cars began to pull away in a race that would ultimately go caution free.
Sweet took to the outside lane and grabbed the lead away from Marks on lap 10. Further back, a furious battle involving Allen, Schuchart, Kofoid and Gravel was unfolding as those drivers fought for top-5 positions in the running order.
Sweet began to show his dominance by the midway point pulling away to healthy advantage.
Gravel took fifth away from Kofoid on lap 12 then set out after Shark Racing teammates Schuchart and Allen. Both Gravel and Kofoid would eventually get by Schuchart to round out the top-5 but there was no match for Sweet who had pulled away to a five second lead by the time he sailed under the checkered flag.
“An unbelievable team right now,” Sweet declared in his victory lane interview with DirtVision.com. “They’re making such great decisions all night long. We didn’t unload that great, I think we threw four bars at it, changed everything under the sun. Even though we went sixth to third in the Dash I still didn’t think we were that good so we still made some pretty big changes for the A. I’m just really impressed with our decision making. We’re really just working well together.”
