Following his big win earlier this month at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park, Tyler Nicely kept momentum on his side as he outran a solid field of Modified cars to score a win on the first day of the Leftover at 411 Motor Speedway. The Owensboro, KY driver earned $500 for his win on the a day preceding an Iron-Man Modified Series feature that will dole out $1,200 to the victor at the Seymour, TN facility.
Tyler Nicely was quickest in qualifying when he posted a lap of 16.551 seconds around the 3/8 mile clay oval besting NASCAR Xfinity Series racer Justin Allgaier, Nick Hoffman, Blake Brown, Austin Holcombe, Michael Asbury, Ricky Arms, Bryan Barber, Brandon Kinzer, Jimmy Lennex, Clayton Miller and Jody Puckett.
The top-12 qualifiers were locked into the feature.
Peyton Harlow won the first B-main race of the night ahead of Bill Pritchard Jr. and Chris Kittle while Jimmy Dalton to the second preliminary over Brandon Hutchinson and Robert Reagan.
Jacob Hull was the winner of the third heat as he beat out David Clark and Adam Wright then Michael Lee won the fourth and final heat ahead of Jamie Mosley and Lucas Lee.
Nicely immediately went to the lead when the 20-lap feature got underway with Allgaier, Brown, Hoffman and Asbury in his tire tracks. Holcombe made a run into the top-5 on lap 4 when he passed by Holcombe. However, that position gain would prove to be short lived as Holcombe regained the spot two laps later.
Nicely began getting away from his pursuers by lap 7 but quickly found himself in the midst of slower traffic by the tenth lap. From that point it would only be slower machines that would challenge Nicely’s supremacy as he drove on to capture the checkered flag and score the victory.
