411 Motor Speedway’s 7th Annual Hangover 40 Goes December 30, December 31

Somerset, KY (December 1, 2016)- The beginning of a new year gives signifies the start of a new year and also the start of a new race season, however, 411 Motor Speedway track promoter Mitch McCarter and CT Promotions will present a must-see dirt racing event to conclude the 2016 season and begin the 2017 race season as the 7th Annual Hangover 40 will take place at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN on Friday December 30 and Saturday December 31.

This will mark the third straight year the event has been held for Super Late Models and CT Promotions will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the program once again that will pay $4,000 to win and $450 to start, along with CT Promotions sanctioned Open Wheel Modifieds being added to the 7th Annual Hangover event as well for the first time, paying $1,200 to win. This event is quickly becoming one of the largest early season racing extravaganzas in the America, with the event drawing a record total of 222 entries in seven divisions representing fifteen states and two countries on New Year’s Day one year ago, with 41 of those entries being Super Late Models that represented ten states.

There will be an open practice to kick the 7th Annual Hangover 40 weekend, with practice set to take from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening December 30. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. for the open practice, with FREE admission in the general admission area, while a pit pass will be $15.

The 7th Annual Hangover 40 event will take place on Saturday December 31 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN and will see Super Late Models in competition in a full program of practice, time trials, Pole Dash, Last Chance heat races, and the 40 lap, $4,000 to win/$450 to start 7th Annual Hangover 40 A-Main. Providing support division action at 411 Speedway on Saturday December 31 will be Crate Late Models ($1,500 to win), Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,200 to win), Sportsman Late Models ($700 to win), Street Stocks ($700 to win), and Mod Lites ($1,000 to win/$100 to start).

The Super Late Model portion of the event will be sanctioned by CT Promotions and will race under Southern Nationals Series rules and procedures with the following tire compound rules for all four tires on the cars: Hoosier 1350, 1600 and/or American Racer 48, 56. The entry fee for Super Late Models is $100. The Open Wheel Modifieds will race under CT Promotions sanctioned procedures with UMP DirtCar body rules and use the following tire compound rules for all four tires on the cars: Hoosier A40S, A40, H40 and/or American Racer Hard, Extra Hard. The entry fee for Modifieds is $10. Also of note, CT Promotions has posted bonuses for drivers who have their machines equipped with a Steel Head/SPEC or CT525 engine. The highest finishing Steel Head/SPEC Late Model entry in the Hangover 40 A-Main will receive a $200 bonus, while the highest finishing CT525 Late Model entry in the Hangover 40 A-Main will receive a $200 bonus. Also, random tire samples will taken and any car is subject to this process at anytime during the course of the event.

Weight and spoiler rules for Super Late Models for the event are as follows: Open Motors- 2,350 lbs. and 8” spoiler; Steel Head/SPEC Motor Only- 2,300 lbs. and 8” spoiler with 12” sides; CT525 Motors- 2,250 lbs. and 8” spoiler; ALL Steel Motors/Crate Engines- 2,250 lbs. and 8” spoiler with 12” sides. There will also be a one pound per lap, plus five more pounds, burn off in last chance heats and A-Main. Any driver utilizing a HANS safety device will receive a 30 pound weight break and any car that has a working fire extinguisher on board will receive a 20 pound weight break. The rules in place for the event are based off the 2016 Southern Nationals Series rule book and can viewed online at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com. The Open Wheel Modifieds must weigh in at a minimum of 2,400 lbs. at all times.

Transponders will be used for timing and scoring and those can be rented for $20 for Super Late Model competitors ($10 user fee if driver has their own transponder). Also, transponder timing and scoring will be used for all support divisions as well. The transponder rental fee will be $5 for all competitors in the support divisions. Drivers will need to bring some form of deposit for their transponder rental, either in the form of credit card or cash for the transponder.

The Crate Late Model, Sportsman Late Models, and Street Stocks will race according to the rules and procedures normally in use at 411 Motor Speedway. The Mod Lites will race according to the rules of their series organization rules and race procedures.

Activities for the 7th Annual Hangover 40 at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday December 31 will see the general admission area and pit area open at 8:00 a.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 11:45 a.m., with practice laps set to begin at Noon, followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. All times are Eastern Standard Time. Tickets prices for the 7th Annual Hangover 40 at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday December 31 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.
