Weekly Racing Heroes will be a regular feature on InsideDirtRacing.com throughout the 2019 racing season. These pieces will focus on drivers in east Tennessee who race on a weekly basis at the tracks of this region. Here, drivers will answer three questions that will provide fans with a look into the lives of their favorite weekly competitors. 

Driver: Booger Brooks

Hometown: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Class: Sportsman

Anyone who races in the Chattanooga area knows that Booger Brooks is someone they will have to deal with on the track. The 30-year-old driver has won scores of features at places such as Boyd’s Speedway, North Georgia Speedway, and the old Cleveland Speedway.

What got you started in racing?

“My granddaddy raced, my daddy raced, my uncles raced, my brothers raced. It’s been a lifetime thing. I basically grew up at the race track.”

What is the goal you want to achieve in racing?

“I just want to race. There really ain’t no goal, I guess. I just have fun doing it.”

What keeps you coming back week after week?

“It’s all I know. I’ve done it my whole life. I work on a lot of cars for other folks. I do to their’s what I do to mine and it makes me work harder on mine. I love that competition part of the deal.”
