Following the World of Outlaws Late Model Series racing action on Wednesday night, a non-racing related altercation occurred involving drivers Tyler Erb and Hudson O’Neal. The Volusia County(FL) Sheriff’s Department arrested Erb in the early hours of Thursday morning, who they labeled as the ‘primary aggressor’ in the confrontation.

It must be stated here that O’Neal is a minor while Erb is 21-years-old.

Following the arrest, the series released the this official statement:

World of Outlaws Late Model Series officials are aware of the ongoing situation with one of its competitors. Long after racing competition was completed at Volusia Speedway Park during night nine of DIRTcar Nationals, the Volusia County Sheriff department was called to the facility by a third-party for a non-racing-related altercation between Tyler Erb and a fellow driver. Series officials are in contact with the Volusia County Sheriff and will proceed accordingly. The World of Outlaws won’t have any further comment at this time.

On Friday the World of Outlaws Late Model Series made the nature of the penalties against Erb known. The Texas driver has been suspended by the series for two races. Also, he has been fined $500 and will be on probation through December 31, 2018.
