Maryville, Tennessee – Smoky Mountain Speedway roars back to action on Saturday, June 16 for three big events combined into one racing program including two full super late model programs for one low ticket price.
The Southern All-Stars will make their first visit of 2018 to the historic 4/10-mile track. Some of the region’s top drivers will be on hand competing for the $5,000 winner’s prize.
Rookie of the Year contender Jay Scott leads the SAS point standings heading into Smoky Mountain. Fellow Rookie of the Year contender Mark Dotson is in second, just 32 points outside of the points lead. They will be joined by drivers such as Shanon Buckingham, Tommy Kerr, Skip Arp, Robby Moses, David Crabtree, T.J. Reaid, and more.
Making their first visit to Smoky Mountain Speedway on June 16 will be the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series. Equipped with the GM CT525 crate engine, the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series offers super late model racing at a fraction of the cost.
Hall of Fame driver Ronnie Johnson leads the CPSLMS standings over Jake Knowles, Cruz Skinner, Landon Bagby, Chip Brindle, Chase King, Dale Thurman, and Chad Wallace. Those drivers plus others will be racing for $3,000 to the winner.
Also racing on June 16 will be the Kajun Mini Stock Association for a $1,200 to win race. It will also be a double points event for the Kajun Mini Stocks.
Pit gates open at 3:00. Grandstand and tier parking gates open at 4:00. The driver’s meeting is set for 6:30 followed by hot laps and qualifying at 7:00.
Grandstand ticket prices are $20 for adults, kids 6-11 are $5, and kids 5 and under are free. Tier parking is $25 for adults, kids 6-11 are $10, and kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults, kids 11 and under are $15. Minors 18 and under must submit a Minor Release and Waiver of Liability form signed by parent/legal guardian. If form is not signed in the presence of an Smoky Mountain Speedway official, it must be notarized. The form can be downloaded from the track’s web site at www.SmokyMountainSpeedway.com.
There will be an autograph session, kids’ giveaways, and other activities at the Chevy Fan Zone located in the concourse area. The autograph session is scheduled for 5:30-6:15.
Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville, Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles and turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for approximately 2 miles, the racetrack is on the right. The first entrance is for grandstand parking. The second entrance is for tier parking and campground access. The pit entrance is the next right on Crye Road.
