1. Several area tracks are getting new scoreboards with LED displays and connections to transponders. Improvements are a good thing, especially when it takes the track out of the 1960’s into the 21st century.
2. Ever notice there isn’t much talk about traction control and soaking tires? Have series done a better job of policing it or are the racers at better at not getting caught?
3. In this day of social media and instant information, waiting until a Monday or a Tuesday to post race results is not a good way to promote your track.
4. It was only a matter of time before the big dirt late model teams started using wind tunnels to test aerodynamics. Let’s hope they don’t start using post machines to test suspensions or DLM racing will be for the ultra-rich teams only (which won’t be many).
5. Facebook pages should not be a replacement for a web site for a racetrack. But they are okay for drivers who can reach more fans that way and save some money while doing it.
6. More race fans use Facebook than Twitter. But drivers, series, tracks, etc. interact more on Twitter than on Facebook. Follow your favorites and get involved.
