GAFFNEY, SC—The 2017 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Season will kick off on Sunday afternoon March 5thwith a $10,000 to win event at the Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC., with the 15th Annual March Madness 60 lap main event.
In 2016 three time Southern All Star champion Chris Madden of Gray Court, Sc., took the win and he looks to make it two in a row as he plans on competing along with four time Southern All Star champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., 2016 Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com Rookie of the Year Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., Jim Rogers of Statesboro, GA., Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA., all of these drivers are expected to compete for the $10,000 payday.
New drivers that have expressed interest in competing for include another four time Southern All Star champion Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., Austin Horton of Newnan, GA., Ryan Crane of Panama City, FL., Tristan Sealy of Moultrie, GA., Jay Scott of Fayetteville, TN., T J Reaid of Acworth, GA., plus many more drivers have looked at running the series in 2017.
Action will get under way at Cherokee Speedway with pit gates opening at 10 am driver meeting at 12 noon and hot laps begin at drivers meeting. The Southern All Star portion of the program will consist of SUNOCO Race Fuels Group qualifying, Hoosier Racing Tires heat races, PPM Race Products B Mains and a 60 lap main event. There will also be a full racing program from all of Cherokee Speedway’s divisions.
