Southern All Stars set for big opening weekend at East Alabama and Cherokee

Southern All Stars Set For Opening Weekend Events At East Alabama & Cherokee 
Speedway

FAYETTEVILLE, TN-The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will kick off the 2015 
season with two of the top super late model racing events in the south.  
February 26-28 the series will be part of the 18th Annual Bama Bash at the East 
Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL., for a 100 lap $15,000 to win event 
along with a possible $5,000 in lap money to make it a possible $20,000 to win 
payday.  The series was the original sanctioning body of the Bama Bash when it 
was started at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL., that track closed and 
the event was moved to the East Alabama.

The second race of the weekend with take place on Sunday afternoon March 1st at 
Lennie Buff’s Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC., for the 13th Annual March 
Madness a 60 lap $10,000 to win event.  Combining the two races with tracks that 
are only four hours a part will give drivers a chance to win over $25,000 for 
the weekend and that will be by far the largest opening weekend of purses run 
under Southern All Stars sanction.  The series also was the original sanctioning 
body over March Madness when it started.

Some of the drivers that are expected to be on hand for the two race weekend 
include two time Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Champion Riley Hickman of 
Ooltewah, TN., Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., 2014 Southern All Star Dirt 
Racing Series Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com Rookie of the year Chris 
Wilson of Crossville, TN., Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., two time Southern All 
Star Champion Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC., Jonathan Davenport of 
Blairsville, GA., and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN.

Other drivers that have expressed interest also include Tony Knowles of Tyrone, 
GA., Dennis Erb of Carpentersville, IL., four time Southern All Star Dirt Racing 
Series Champion Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., and 
there time Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Champion Randy Weaver of 
Crossville, TN.

East Alabama Motor Speedway action gets under way on Thursday night with gates 
opening at noon and practice starting at 5pm, the Southern All Star portion of 
the program will consist of the Friday White Performance Qualifying, along with 
SUNOCO Race Fuel/Hoosier Tire heat Races, then on Saturday night there will be 
PPM Racing Products B Mains along with the 100 lap feature event.

Cherokee Speedway on Sunday will open at 10am with drivers meeting set for 1pm 
and race time at 2pm.  The Southern All Star portion of the program will consist 
of White Performance Qualifying, SUNOCO Race Fuel/Hoosier Tire heat races, PPM 
Racing Products B Mains along with a 60 lap feature.
