Smoky Mtn. Speedway releases diverse 2015 schedule

Smoky Mountain Speedway has released its 2015 schedule. The Maryville track has a diverse schedule for the upcoming season.

The season kicks off March 12-14 for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals. An open practice will be held on March 12 with a $5,000 to win race on March 13 and a $10,000 to win race on March 14.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will visit on March 28 for a $5,000 to win race. The American Modified Series will also be racing for $3,000 to win. The Ultimate series returns Friday, July 10.

Friday, April 10 is the first race of the Mountain All-Stars series that will feature the limited late models racing for $4,000 to win. The crate late models has their Mountain All-Stars race on Saturday, May 30 for $3,000 to win. The street stocks compete in their Mountain All-Stars race on August 29 for a $2,000 to win race.

The Southern All-Stars make the first of two appearances on April 25 for the Rockin’ With the Stars race for $5,000 to win.

On May 9, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series return for a $10,000 to win race.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visit on June 20 for the Ole Smoky Moonshine 50 for $10,000 to win race.

Sprint car fans will get to see the USCS sprint cars on Thursday, July 16. July wraps up on Friday, July 31 for the Schaffer Oil Southern Nationals $5,300 to win race.

The Carolina Clash series will make their first visit to SMS on August 15 for a $5,000 to win race.

The season wraps up on September 19 with the second visit by the Southern All-Stars for the $5,000 to win King of the Mountain Fall Classic. That night will also be the induction ceremony for the 2015 class of the Smoky Mountain Speedway Hall of Fame.

Ray Cook’s Spring Nationals replaces the defunct NDRL series on the March calendar. The staff is excited to start their season with Cook’s events.

“We are excited about expanding our relationship with Ray Cook and the Spring Nationals,” said Casey Moses, Smoky Mountain Speedway general manager. “Ray has a solid following for both of his series’ and is one of the best promoters out there. Our opening March weekend is one you will not want to miss and is a great preview to our 14-event season.”
