The grandstands will no doubt be filled all throughout the 2019 season at SMS
The facility commonly referred to as ‘Tennessee’s Special Events Track’ has released its 2019 schedule. And living up to its name, there will indeed be be a number of major special events at the Smoky Mountain Speedway in the coming season. The Maryville, TN track will play host to national and regional touring series along with lucrative support class races adding to the excitement of each race night.
Highlighting the season will be multiple races paying $10,000-to-win or more. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series will open the season in the 6th Annual Tennessee Tip-off Classic at SMS with a $12,000-to-win feature on March 9th. That event will be followed up by the Smoky Mountain Spring Showdown for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series competing for a $10,000-to-win purse on April 13th. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to the 4/10 mile clay oval in contesting the Big Daddy 75 on June 15th in a $15,000-to-win main event.
The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series, Southern Nationals Series, Iron-Man Championship Series, and Fall Nationals will also headline race events at The Mountain in 2019.
Sprint Cars will once again take to the high speed track when the United Sprint Car Series accompanies the Southern All Stars on April 26th. The American Crate All Star Series, the Durrence Layne Crate Late Model Series, the Kajun Mini-Stocks, and the Iron-Man Modifieds are also among the regional tours that will support the headlining events.
Further, there will be unsanctioned competition among the Limited Late Models and Sportsman Late Models throughout the season.
And for enthusiasts of two-wheel competition, the Harley Hooligan Race presented by Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson is on tap for the first weekend in May.
