Feature Re-cap: When the 40-lap feature took the green flag it was Clanton who went to the lead with Overton, Joiner, Smith and Weiss trailing. Feger and Madden passed by Weiss on the second circuit to take the fifth and sixth positions respectively. However, Weiss would go back by Madden for sixth on lap 3 and then around Feger to retake fifth one lap later.

Clanton began to slip away from the pack on lap 5. Further back, a fierce battle was being waged between Davenport, Winger and Pierce at the back of the top-10.

Weiss took fourth away from Joiner on lap 10 as Clanton continued to lead although he was having to work his way through and around slower traffic. That, in turn, allowed Overton to close on the rear spoiler of the race leader. At the same time, Madden looked to pull his way into the battle for the win as he passed Weiss for fourth at the halfway mark and then got by Joiner for third on lap 26.

Clanton made contact with Strickler on lap 27 as he attempted to lap the No. 8 machine. Strickler went for a spin which brought out the only yellow flag of the night.

After the restart, Overton kept Clanton in sight, but ultimately, the ‘Georgia Bulldog’ was able to control the pace over the closing laps to sail under the checkered flag for the victory.
