National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member Scott Bloomquist suffered injuries to his right hip and leg as a result of a recent motorcycle accident. The injuries are serious enough to sideline the legendary racer indefinitely.
Following a report initially posted by DirtonDirt.com, the Bloomquist Twitter account on Thursday evening posted more information to further update fans on the driver’s condition.
Here is the post from @Bloomquist_0:
“Scott would like to thank everyone for their prayers! The impact was on the right leg/hip with no other injuries. Just needing time to heal and physical therapy to get back on track… we will keep the fans updated best we can!
Thanks again
-Team Zero”
Bloomquist, 55, has raced full-time on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series since 2013. The winner of more than 600 feature events has earned championships on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour as well on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Hav-a-Tampa Dirt Racing Series.
The LOLMDS is scheduled to race at Ohio’s Atomic Speedway and Indiana’s Brownstown Speedway this weekend. Bloomquist has not missed a race on that tour since August 30, 2013.
