Feature Re-cap: The beginning of the 50-lap went off with Thornton leading Moran, Marlar, Larson and O’Neal. On the second circuit, O’Neal moved around Larson for fourth. Tuesday night winner at Eldora, Marlar, took second from Moran.
Dennis Erb Jr. passed Larson for fifth on lap 7 as Marlar closed in on Thornton to challenge for the lead. As the race approached the 20-lap mark, leaders Thornton and Marlar fought for the top spot among slower traffic.
At the halfway point, the field was running largely in single-file formation through the middle groove as Thornton stretched his advantage to just over two seconds. A lap 34 caution slowed the pace when Wever slid off the track.
Following the lap 34 restart, Thornton’s domination continued as he motored away from the pack while building a big lead. Meanwhile, Moran closed in on Marlar in hopes of challenging for the runner-up position. But in the end, it was Thornton who would take the checkered flag to earn the victory.
