In the last edition of the Quick Six blog, we looked at time management. In this edition, we look at word play and some other recent stories in dirt racing.
- It’s a good thing people in big time athletics know the difference betweem the words “postponed” and “cancelled”. People in dirt racing should learn the difference.
- The word provisional is misused by lots of people in racing. A provisional is when a series adds drivers to the lineup based on points acculumated. When drivers are added at random or based off anything other than points is called a promoter’s option.
- Most tracks in the south cannot host three straight nights of practice and racing because of number of laps on the surface and track prep.
- Good to see some tracks in our area putting down a new surface.
- With tracks scheduling on top of each other, looks like many overlooked the Oct. 22 date. Very thin on the schedule and no Tennessee football game this week.
- In looking at the 2017 Lucas schedule, there are some interesting omissions and date changes regarding Tennessee tracks.
