Live Updates: Spring Nationals at Senoia Raceway(3-30-18)

InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the Spring Nationals race from the Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA on Friday evening, March 30, 2018. These updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

Classes in action: Spring Nationals Super Late Models for $3,000-to-win(40 laps).

*These updates will primarily focus on the Spring Nationals event.

General Information: Drivers meeting is slated for 5:45 with hot laps to begin soon thereafter.

*Drivers meeting delayed.

Weather is expected to be mild with virtually no chance of rain.

Senoia Raceway is a 3/8 mile clay oval.

This will be the first race for the 2018 Spring Nationals Mini-Series.

This is a two-night event with this feature paying $3,000-to-win and the Saturday night feature paying $10,000-to-win.

Brandon Overton was the 2017 Spring Nationals champion. Donald McIntosh(twice), Billy Ogle, Jr. and Steve Casebolt have also won this championship.

The Blount Motorsports team has won this title three times(McIntosh in 2015 & 2016, Billy Ogle, Jr. in 2014).

The Spring Nationals is an 11-race tour. The champion of the Mini-Series will receive a payment of $5,053.

Heat Race Results: There will be four heat races with the top-4 from each transferring to the feature.

Heat 1 Finish- 1. McIntosh, 2. Bloomquist, 3. Hardy, 4. A Smith … Freeman, Barton

*McIntosh dominated. It was a good race for second between Bloomquist and Hardy. Barton failed to start the heat.

Heat 2 Finish- 1. Clanton, 2. Buckingham, 3. Roberts, 4. Cook … Hickman, Ownbey

*Clanton dominated. The outside of the front row appears to be the best place to start.

Heat 3 Finish- 1. Ridley, 2. Massey, 3. Payne, 4. Kinzer … Duty

*Ridley led all the way. Good battle for second between Massey and Payne.

Heat 4 Finish- 1. C King, 2. Wells, 3. Henderson, 4. Culp

*Good battle between King and Wells for the lead.

B-Main Results: No B-mains.

10:00- Feature rolling out. 40 laps for $3,000.

10:08- Four wide!

10:09- Green flag!

Bloomquist went around and several cars piled in. Buckingham rolled over on his roof. Kinzer, Culp, R King, Hardy among those involved.

Buckingham reported to be ok. Most of those involved will continue. Looks like only Buckingham and Hardy pulled off track.

Lap 8 caution for spin by Payne. Page had built a big lead over Leonhardi, Horton, C Smith, McIntosh, Clanton, Bloomquist, Ridley.

Lap 17 caution. Leader Page involved in an incident with Austin Smith. Smith spun first and Page had no where to go. Leonhardi leads C Smith, Clanton, Bloomquist, Horton, McIntosh. Page has damage and has to go to the rear of the field.

Officials have reversed their decision and Page has been returned to the lead.

Incredible race as Bloomquist passed C Smith for the lead with two laps to go.
