Not dead yet? An additional round for East Bay Raceway Park

It was announced during Friday night’s FloRacing.com broadcast of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race at East Bay Raceway Park that a set of additional dates have been added to that Gibsonton, Florida venue for the 2024 schedule. Not only will the facility play host to its regularly scheduled Wieland Winternationals between February 4 and February 10th but a set of races are also now on the docket for October of next year.

It has long been reported that East Bay will be closing down in 2024. It had been said going into this current week’s set of events that next season’s Winternationals would be it for the track. However, the announcement was made on Friday that the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return on October 10th and 11th for a pair of $5,000-to-win shows and then will stage a $50,000-to-win affair on October 12th to bring the curtain down on the historic ‘Clay by the Bay’.

The $50,000 race will serve as the deciding event as far as selecting the four drivers that will race for the season championship in the 2024 Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway.
