TAZEWELL, TN (May 5, 2015)—Mother’s get ready, this Saturday Night May 9th it’s all about you at the Tazewell Speedway as the 50th Anniversary Celebration rolls on.
After a successful Spring Nationals Series event on May 2nd in the rear-view mirror, action at The Bad Fast Taz will get back underway this Saturday Night as the Tazewell Late Models return to action after a week off and they’ll gun for the $1,550 top prize. The Sportsman, Classics, KDRA-Super Stocks and Four Cylinders will all be on the racing card for the evening’s events. There will be a host of prizes available for the Mother’s this Saturday. The evening is sponsored by Sanderella Salon & Spa, Christy’s Florist, Pizza Inn, Sun Loan and Slim & Trim Weight Loss.
On Saturday May 9 at Tazewell Speedway, the pit gates will swing open at 4:00 pm, while the main grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm. The driver’s meeting will be at 7:00 pm and hot laps will roll out at 7:30 pm. Grandstand Admission is only $12.00 (Children the age of 9 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult) while Pit Admission is $25.00 and $15.00 for children 12 and under.
Coming up on Friday Night May 29th will be the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned 10th Annual Toyota of Knoxville 50 paying $10,000-to-win for the Super Late Models. There will be a full racing program for all divisions during this event. Make plans now to attend this must-see event!
May 2 winners at Tazewell Speedway included Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn. who captured his second win of the season in the Super Late Models, this time with the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series in front of a packed house. Brad Davis of Tazewell collected his second win of the season in the KDRA-Super Stocks while Clyde Overholt of Tazewell went back-to-back and collected the May 2nd Sportsman feature and the April 18 make-up feature event win. The May 2nd Classic feature event went to Philip Thompson of Knoxville, Tenn. and he also doubled up and captured the April 18 rainout feature event win.
